After leading Ferris State to a DII national championship two seasons ago, Ole Miss transfer quarterback Trinidad Chambliss proved himself on the big stage this past season, leading the Rebels to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.
Chambliss put together a productive season for Ole Miss, going 11-2 as a starting quarterback and throwing for 3,937 yards, 22 touchdowns, and three interceptions while rushing for eight touchdowns and over 500 yards.
Chambliss applied for a sixth season of eligibility, but it was denied by the NCAA. Ole Miss is waiting for its answer from its appeal, but Chambliss might be headed to the 2026 NFL Draft.
Let’s take a look at five teams that could target Chambliss in the 2026 NFL Draft.
5 Landing Spots for Trinidad Chambliss In 2026 NFL Draft
#1 – New York Jets
No shocker here, but the New York Jets need a new quarterback heading into the 2026 season. Justin Fields didn’t pan out last season, and the team’s expected to move on from him. The Jets have two first-round picks (No. 2, No. 16) and could use either pick to draft him.
#2 – Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders hold the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft and can select whoever they want. The expectation is that they select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. A lot can happen from now until the draft, and maybe the Raiders trade back in the draft and select Chambliss later in the first round while gaining some draft capital.
#3 – Cleveland Browns
The Browns are still tied down to Deshaun Watson, but this probably will be his last season in Cleveland. Rookie quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel did nothing to impress last season, and Cleveland has two first-round picks (No. 6 & 24). They could choose to select Chambliss.
#4 – Arizona Cardinals
Rumor has it the Arizona Cardinals will trade quarterback Kyler Murray this offseason or move on from him. If they do, Jacoby Brissett won’t take over as the franchise quarterback. Arizona holds the third overall pick in the draft and could look to use it on a quarterback, such as Chambliss.
#5 – Miami Dolphins
Miami could move on from Tua Tagovailoa this season. If they decide to do so, Chambliss could be available when they pick at No. 11 in the 2026 NFL Draft.
