Paul Pierce made a big revelation about an ongoing paternity case that began earlier this year. A woman, named Princess Santiago (on Instagram), claimed in January that the former NBA player was the biological father of her son, King, who was born on February 6. While Pierce earlier denied the claims and opted for a DNA test, he recently admitted that he is indeed the father.
Who is Princess Santiago and everything about the Paul Pierce lawsuit?
Princess Santiago is a Puerto Rican model and actress known for her work in Doumi Girls and Blood Bride. She also worked in the makeup department for some time and currently owns a film and event production house, ONI Productions. She was also involved with hosting and event management gigs in her early life when she lived in Boston.
However, later, Princess Santiago moved to LA and founded a production company. In January, she filed a lawsuit against the former Boston Celtics forward, claiming that he was the father of her then-unborn child. She also demanded $29,811 per month in child support, $100K in legal fees, and nearly $19K in pregnancy-related expenses, as per the documents obtained by TMZ.
Recently, the event manager uploaded a picture with her son, enjoying her time at home. She wrote in the caption:
“At home soaking in 2 months of loving you, protecting you, and growing with you.You are my greatest blessing and my biggest purpose. My son, my heart, my everything 💙 Dios Te Bendiga”
Princess Santiago highlighted Paul Pierce’s massive NBA income as a reason to demand high monthly maintenance. An increased percentage of child support and maintenance in LA has brought a lot of scrutiny among fans about victims taking advantage of that condition.
The LA-based event director said in a statement to TMZ:
“For nine months, I went through this pregnancy alone — no financial support, no in-person presence from Paul. Now that the DNA test confirms he’s the father, he’s seeking joint custody.”
Only time will tell what eventually happens in the lawsuit and how the former NBA player Paul Pierce will handle the situation.
