“What’s Wrong With Him?”: NBA Fans in Stitches as Chet Holmgren Channels Inner Sheikh After Viral ESPN Intro

Chet Holmgren has been known to provide laughs for Thunder fans by engaging in some shenanigans with his fun-loving teammates. This past weekend, Holmgren allegedly took his sense of humor to social media in order to mock a certain media partner of the NBA.

On Sunday, some social media outlets claimed that the OKC center temporarily changed his profile picture on X into one that shows him wearing a traditional Middle Eastern headdress.

Seeing this post, fans speculated that Chet Holmgren may have been referring to ESPN’s viral intro in which his likeness was significantly altered. Last week, Holmgren called out ESPN for supposedly using AI to render his physical appearance.

Meanwhile, fans were in stitches as they reacted to Holmgren’s temporary profile picture.

    “What is wrong with him?”

    “50K fine incoming”

“Chet said forget basketball bro is moving different. The Thunder got a whole sheikh on the roster now”

“Just cooking himself at that point.”

    “There’s no difference tbh”

    “Chet Holmgren is a legend.”

All jokes aside, Holmgren has some serious business to take care of as the Thunder head towards their third straight postseason as the number one seed in the Western Conference. Though the Thunder are the defending champions, strong contenders like the San Antonio Spurs and the LA Lakers are threatening to knock them off their perch.

Holmgren will have to once again bring the rim protection and inside-outside scoring that complimented the offense of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams during their 2025 championship run. In other words, Holmgren can’t afford distractions like questionable video graphics get in his head.

“Get Like Gallo”: Chet Holmgren Tweets Pic of Thunder Sideline Reporter Getting Lifted Off the Ground

While the supposed profile pic change was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Chet Holmgren’s antics with Thunder reporter Nick Gallo have been well documented.

Last week, Holmgren tweeted a picture of Gallo being lifted off the ground by a number of Thunder players, including Holmgren himself.

“#getlikegallo,” Holmgren wrote in the caption.

Gallo, of course, is among the many Thunder supporters who are hoping that the team can replicate their title run from last year.
