Warriors vs Timberwolves Preview and Prediction

The Warriors built momentum with a four-game winning streak that began last week, but in the tail end of this streak, disaster struck as Jimmy Butler tore his ACL in a matchup against his former team, the Miami Heat. Since then, Golden State has dropped back-to-back games. On Thursday, they lost to the Dallas Mavericks 123-115. Steph Curry did all he could, dropping 38 points on 51.9% FG shooting, but it was still not enough to prevail over the Mavs.

The Timberwolves are in a tail spin of their own. After winning back-to-back contests against the San Antonio Spurs and the Milwaukee Bucks, the Wolves went on to lose four straight outings. Their latest loss came this past Thursday, when they suffered a 120-115 setback dealt by the Chicago Bulls. Julius Randle had 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Anthony Edwards had 20 points on a subpar 9-for-25 shooting clip.

Minnesota is favored to win this matchup against Golden State. Much like their second-round series last season, the Timberwolves have the edge in size; they’re expected to impose their will in the paint against a smaller Warriors team.
