This week, LeBron James went on Instagram to post a clip of him hitting golf balls into a sea. The IG story, which went on to go viral, appears to have been shot at the Gulf of Naples in Italy.
Not long after, hip hop star Travis Scott appeared to clown James with a series of IG stories of his own. One clip shows the “4×4” rapper imitating the LA Lakers superstar by firing a golf ball into a body of water as he stood on a yacht.
“Hey @kingjames meet us on the water,” Scott wrote in his caption.

In another story, Scott showed a basketball court aboard the yacht and extended another invitation to LBJ.
“And we having court to @kingjames. Tell @ernieramos @money23green And @bronny we waiting on you too”
Scott’s interaction with James comes off the heels of both celebrities appearing in a Nike ad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off this coming Thursday.
In the past, the four-time NBA champion has shared a concert stage with Scott. Back in October 2018, James joined Scott and Drake as they performed “Sicko Mode” at Crypto.com Arena. That was the prelude to James joining the LA Lakers after he wrapped up his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
At this point, however, the King would rather be playing in the NBA Finals instead of posting viral clips of his golf swing out of Italy.
LeBron James Responds to Travis Scott’s Invite to Play Golf: “I See You!”
Not one to be outdone, James went on Instagram to post a repost Scott’s story and issue a response to the invite.
“Yeaaahhhh I see you!! We up!”

It’s no secret that James is fond of playing golf in the offseason. However, even this pastime has not gone without controversy. Prior to the 2025-26 regular season, there were speculations that James’ sciatica problems were caused by his golf hobby.
LBJ went on to have a solid season for the Lakers, who ended up getting swept by the OKC Thunder in the second round of the playoffs.
