Savannah and LeBron James have been one of the strongest and most loved couples in the NBA world. The two have shared numerous moments of love and respect, on and off the court, in their more than two decades together. However, it wasn’t the same when the two came to the league as a high school couple in 2003. James highlighted this in her latest public appearance.
LeBron James’ wife was a guest on the IRL podcast, hosted by Angie Martinez, and talked about her feelings when she first came to the pro league. She revealed that there was a “hierarchy” among WAGs and players. She said:
“Into the NBA, I wasn’t as welcomed as I thought I would be. So I took that as ‘let me just sit back here and chill.’ It was much more hierarchy after like back in the day. I am 17 years old guys. I’m just like, ‘hey,’ they like, ‘Hmm, you won’t be here long.'”
However, Savannah proved everybody wrong, as she and LBJ have only grown stronger since then. The couple met in 2002 in high school, when Savannah was a cheerleader and a softball player from a rival school. Since coming to the NBA, as she said, she has kept a low profile and is seen in public when she comes to watch her husband play, especially for significant moments.
The two got engaged in 2011 and currently have three children: son Bronny James of the LA Lakers, son Bryce James, a University of Arizona student and player, and daughter Zhuri.
LeBron James Might End His Career Where It All Started
Even though Savannah James might not have received the best treatment when she and LeBron James began their journey in Cleveland, she would be properly welcomed if her husband decides to return home for the next season. Several sources have suggested that this might become a reality soon.
While the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors have come up as the biggest names pursuing King James in free agency, Cleveland’s chances might be the best. The Ohio native might love to end his legendary career with another storyline by getting a much-awaited fifth ring with a team that probably gives him the most love.
