Philadelphia 76ers vs San Antonio Spurs Preview and Prediction

The Philadelphia 76ers have looked solid over the past three weeks, putting together an 8-4 run. That stretch has helped them climb out of the play-in spots and move up to sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been on another level since the start of February. Over the last nine weeks, they have gone 27-3. That dominant run has pushed them to clinch a top-two seed in the West, sitting just three games behind the top-seeded OKC Thunder.

The only matchup between these teams this season came on Mar. 3, and it was all Spurs from start to end. They cruised to a 131-91 win, with Devin Vassell leading the way with 22 points and Stephon Castle adding a 15-point, 10-assist performance. Victor Wembanyama did not even need much playing time, finishing with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and nine ‘stocks’ (combined steals and blocks) in just 24 minutes.

Philadelphia was missing Joel Embiid and Paul George in that game, which left Tyrese Maxey as their main scoring option. He finished with 21 points, but the team simply lacked enough offensive options to keep up, leading to a 40-point loss.

Even with the 76ers’ healthier lineup now, the Spurs still have the edge. They have been incredibly consistent and have not dropped back-to-back games since mid-January. Their home form is also a major factor, with a strong 29–7 record, while Philadelphia has been more average on the road at 21–17.

Prediction: Expect the Spurs to win by 9 points.
