Because of their European roots, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic have always shared a strong connection. Even though they have never played for the same franchise, their friendship has grown stronger over the years. Fans have often seen their brother-like chemistry during exhibition events like All-Star Weekend. That bond recently became even more personal, with Jokic hosting Doncic at his home.
On Mar. 5, the LA Lakers traveled to Colorado for a single road game against the Denver Nuggets before returning to LA to begin a five-game homestand. While in Denver, Doncic and his entourage visited Jokic at his house. Photos from the visit surfaced about a week later and quickly caught the attention of fans online.
Lakers fans especially could not contain their excitement. Many immediately started imagining what it would be like to see the two European stars playing together in Los Angeles.

The Mar. 5 matchup between the Lakers and Nuggets was only their second meeting of the season, but it marked the first time Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic faced each other in the campaign.
Fans got exactly the kind of showdown they hoped for, with Doncic putting up an impressive 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. Jokic, however, had the last laugh. The Nuggets MVP delivered a dominant triple-double with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists, helping his side to a 120-113 victory.
Nikola Jokic wishes to never leave Denver
Luka Doncic’s recent visit to Nikola Jokic’s home got a lot of Lakers fans talking. Some even started imagining a scenario where Jokic could one day join an LA team and share a locker room with Doncic. But those hopes didn’t last long, with Jokic recently making it clear that he wants to remain in Denver for the rest of his career.
In a recent interview, Jokic looked back on his journey with the Nuggets and spoke about how meaningful the experience has been for him. He revealed that the idea of leaving to play somewhere else does not appeal to him.
“I wouldn’t like to imagine that,” Jokic said. “Even if we never win anything else after this, an organic title, it means more to me than anything. I really found peace here. My two kids were born here. Everyone’s here. Peace, home, I found my life here. And I like life here. I don’t feel the need, I don’t have the urge to. We built something here, together as a team.”
