LeBron James Winning Two More Rings Still Won’t Be Enough to Pass Michael Jordan, claims Paul Pierce

The GOAT debate between LeBron James and Michael Jordan has been the most talked-about topic in the NBA barbershop conversations. While many believe that the number of championships was enough proof of MJ’s greatness and dominance, Paul Pierce stated that even with two more titles, LBJ won’t be able to match Jordan.

Talking on the No Fouls Given podcast, along with the crew, Pierce said:

“Even if LeBron wins a championship this year, and if he wins another one and gets to six rings, if we consider LeBron behind Jordan, if LeBron wins two more rings with the Lakers, I think, you still couldn’t put him ahead of Jordan.

You gotta look at the role that he’s in now cuz if he’s is the third best player on a championship team and he has six rings, it’s not the same thing.”

The Lakers have now won eight games in a row on the back of Luka Doncic’s 60-game outing against the Miami Heat. Moreover, James posted another triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. At the age of 41, the 4-time NBA champion is still on the lookout for another title with the Lakers.

Even though Jordan spent his career with dominance, winning six NBA Finals MVP awards and as many championships with the Chicago Bulls, James’ longevity has put him in the discussion as one of the most established hoopers in the league.

LeBron James responds to naysayers in post-game session

LeBron James was satisfied with the Lakers’ performance in the current winning run on the road. He even called out the panels on podcasts and NBA analysts who criticized James’ production and stated that the Lakers were better without the all-time leading scorer.

In the post-game presser, LBJ said:

“I was out a couple weeks ago and I was able to come back and see how I fit best with those guys because they were playing so dynamic off one another. But I mean, it sells papers a lot easier and clippings and podcasts if you say their team is better off without LeBron. That’s how a lot of people try to view it, so I get it. They’re absolutely wrong.”

The Lakers have proven the naysayers wrong after going on a winning run at the tail end of the regular season. They are set to claim the third seed in the Western Conference.
