“What Kind of Logic Is This?”: Fans React After Josh Hart’s Sarcastic Take on USMNT’s World Cup Loss Goes Viral

The United States’ 2026 FIFA World Cup journey came to an end on Monday with a 4- 1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16. While fans were left disappointed by the early exit, New York Knicks star Josh Hart tried to lighten the mood with a sarcastic post on social media.

Hart, a passionate soccer fan, shared the disappointment felt by many after the United States’ World Cup exit. To lighten the mood, he shared a message on X:

“We didn’t want to win anyways cause they would have called it rigged 🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽”

The comment spread across social media and got mixed reactions.

One fan replied, “What kind of logic is this??? Lost the game and say you don’t want to win. Say that to the Knicks 😂.”

Another user wrote, “Every day I understand more and more why everyone hates you.”

Others responded with a lighter tone. One fan commented, “Josh I love you, but son 😭😭😭.”

Another pointed out, “They still call it rigged my guy.”

“’We didn’t want to win’ like they actually had a chance 😂😂😂,” one wrote.

Another joked, “Call Trump maybe he can reverse this loss.”

Josh Hart Disappointed Over USMNT’s World Cup Exit

Before his viral “rigged” joke, Hart had already admitted the World Cup defeat was disappointing but reminded fans that his summer still included one unforgettable achievement.

Following the loss, Hart posted, “US lost but Knicks still Champs. Goodnight!”, referencing New York’s historic NBA championship run, where the Knicks captured their first title in 53 years by defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games.

During the game, he took a jab at Belgium, writing, “Pancakes > Belgian Waffles,” and looking ahead by writing, “So who we supporting now?”

Although the USMNT’s World Cup journey ended sooner than many had hoped, Hart quickly shifted his focus back to New York’s recent success. His latest sarcastic post ensured that the conversation surrounding the United States’ exit continues long after the final whistle.
