Rich Paul has delved into details about what LeBron James’ next destination could be. Earlier, he set up a whiteboard on his podcast, discussing five teams’ chances of landing the forward this offseason with co-host Max Kellerman. And this time, the Kultch Sports CEO has come up with four more features that the 2-time NBA champion might be looking for in a team.
Paul’s whiteboard comparison of the Miami Heat, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets quickly became a hot topic in the NBA world. Several analysts and the media also talked about those possibilities. However, Paul, in his next episode of Game Over on Friday, clarified that it was just “fun” and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
Further, the superagent also streamlined four qualities that James might be looking for in his next team:
“Today I worked on, we talked about defensive ratings; on-ball defense, individual, help defense from individuals; looking at how offenses ran… and if you could make a choice there, it’s like ‘okay what is the ATO success rate?'”
As per Paul, the bottom line would come down to just one thing for James:
“I think as you’re evaluating things it goes all the way down to what has been the history of someone in this position valuing a possession.”
The Miami Heat could be the perfect fit, looking at the things Paul listed. With Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the frontcourt is more or less sorted. However, the team’s young core has completely disappeared, and the new lot of youngsters would need a mentor like LeBron James.
Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to the LeBron James question
Giannis Antetokounmpo was featured with popular YouTube creator N3on on Monday, where he was asked a random question about who his GOAT in the NBA was. Though the Greek Freak named both LeBron James and Michael Jordan in that list, he specifically mentioned that he liked watching the four-time NBA champion play.
That mention was enough for N3on to address the big question, as he went:
“LeBron is a free agent right now”
Giannis responded with an emphatic answer:
“ayyyy”
James can act as a facilitator as well as any point guard, and he has shown that time and again. The front office might need a few more efficient wings around the Big 3, if James decides on returning to Miami, to give them extra scoring options.
