NBA player P.J. Washington’s wife, Alisha Chanel, has been in constant loggerheads with his former partner, Brittany Renner, since Washington and Renner were involved in a custody battle. Washington and Renner share a son, named Paul Jermaine Washington III, who was born in May 2021. The two met during his time at the University of Kentucky. In a shocking revelation, the Dallas Mavericks forward’s current wife claimed that Renner might be pregnant.
Chanel and Washington made their relationship official in 2022. The couple got married in October 2023 and has a son named Preston, who was born in December 2022. Chanel is an entrepreneur and a social media influencer. She also has a son from her earlier relationship, Aiden, whom they co-parent together.
On the other hand, Renner is an actor and a social media personality. Chanel and Renner, along with Brittany’s mother and Washington, even had a public spat over the Mavs forward not spending enough time with his son, Paul. The two had several to-and-fros on social media earlier as well. In a comment on social media, Chanel wrote:
“Aren’t you pregnant and hormonal? Allegedly! I understand but let’s not act like we haven’t tried to have the Nanny get him and you had a problem with that! If it’s not Pj coming to get him you decline which is weird because don’t you have a man?”
Renner even publicly called out Chanel for not allowing Washington enough time with his other family. She wrote:
“Hey queen. Could you grant our BD some time with our son.”
After Chanel’s comment gained a lot of attention, Renner fired back with her reply and wrote:
“Oh lol that must be what he tells you. You are losing the plot and the point. I understand it’s easier to deflect, but let’s stay focused, mama. Where are the reciepts of me ever denying him visitation? Please respond. Quickly!”
In her comment, Chanel also claimed that Washington’s former partner demanded $150 for “groceries,” even when she was getting child support. Earlier, the court ruled that Washington would pay 5,500$ in child support every month to the mother of his child, after he signed a $90 million extension with the Mavs. Fans had mixed reactions to Chanel’s claims. However, there is no confirmation from Brittany Renner about her pregnancy.
P.J. Washington shines amid a difficult season for the Mavericks
P.J. Washington led the Mavericks in rebounds per game (7.1), as the team suffered a difficult 2025-26 season and missed the playoffs. They have been officially ruled out of the postseason. However, Washington averages 14.1 points and gave the team some positive hope for the future.
Another positive from the season for the Mavs would be the addition of Cooper Flagg. The team management has a 2026 draft first-round pick and will look to add more pieces around the talented rookie, who is a frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year honors. The team now looks forward to the offseason, as they meet the Milwaukee Bucks in their next bout.
