Jaden Ivey’s recent anti-gay statements on his Instagram Live have led to his exit from the Chicago Bulls roster, citing “his statements were detrimental to the team.” And now, his Bulls teammate, Josh Giddey, has come out in his support with an emotional message. However, fans had mixed reactions and called out Giddey for his own past allegations.
NBA Base shared Giddey’s statement on X and wrote:
“I hope he gets the help he needs, whatever he’s going through. I do really hope he gets help. It’s not going to be with the Bulls anymore, but wherever it is, I hope he gets it.”
Fans shared their reactions in the comment section and mocked Giddey for the past allegations against him. In 2023, he was allegedly in an improper relationship with an underage girl. The NBA even launched an investigation into the findings, which emerged from now-deleted social media posts and other rumors.
Referring to that, a fan wrote:
“Josh Giddey needs the help. Not Jaden!!”
Another wrote in the same tone:
“Josh, I hope you have your eyes opened to see Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It isn’t Jaden who needs help, it is you. But thanks for hoping the best for Jaden. We hope for your salvation, Josh!”
Another one stated that Josh needed to solve his own issues and wrote:
“He don’t need help… he believes what he believes and this America. Josh need to worry about his own problems”
This user simply wrote:
“Jayden already has all the help he needs with Jesus Christ by his side. May @joshgiddey seek help that will bring him home.“
Another wrote:
“says the man who is knee deep in sin. Jaden has all the help he will ever need. He has Jesus Christ.”
Some fans even hailed Giddey for showing leadership and opening up on the situation. Giddey and Co. will now face the Indiana Pacers after four consecutive losses. Meanwhile, Ivey has been waived off by the team due to the recent incident.
The Bulls waive Jaden Ivey after a difficult regular season
The Bulls have struggled this season after they decided to trade Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu. They have been eliminated from the season after they lost four back-to-back games. Josh Giddey led the franchise in points and assists per game.
The team will now meet the Pacers in their next matchup and look towards a new season. The team management will look to acquire some crucial pieces in the offseason if they look to continue building around Giddey.
