“Greek Creep Went to Tattle to the Union”: Fans Savage Giannis Antetokounmpo as NBPA Questions Bucks for Resting Him for Remainder of Season

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have been at loggerheads since the midseason trade period. The forward was rumored to be available in the trade market after tensions were highlighted in the Bucks’ locker room. However, nothing materialized back then until recently, the issue again came to the fore between the team and the Greek freak, and a recent update has enraged fans on social media.

The Bucks reportedly wanted to shut down the 2-time NBA MVP after the team dropped to 11th in the Eastern Conference. Antetokounmpo suffered a knee injury midseason and was sidelined for an extended period. However, he did not agree with being out of the rotation and wanted to play for the rest of the regular season games. Now, the issue has reportedly reached the league.

Shams Charania shared an update on the issue on X and wrote:

“Statement from the National Basketball Players Association on the Milwaukee Bucks’ desires to shut down Giannis Antetokounmpo, who wants to play:”

Fans took to the comment section to criticize Giannis for going to the NBA players’ association over the issue between him and the team. A user wrote:

“That Greek creep went to tattle to the union im done”

Other fans also followed a similar suit, as one backed the Bucks’ decision and wrote:

“The team pays him and can use him in a fashion of their choosing.”

    Another stated:

“Should’ve traded him when they had the chance and started the rebuild.”

Another user seemed to take a sarcastic dig at Giannis’ injuries this season and wrote:

“Yeah because shutting down a guy who’s had multiple injuries this year is so bad”

However, some fans also saw the issue from a different point of view and requested to find a middle ground in the situation, as one wrote:

“It’s a tough situation for both sides. The Bucks want to protect their $175M investment during a lost season, but the NBPA has to protect the player’s right to work. Finding a middle ground between ‘tanking’ and ‘player safety’ is getting harder every year in the NBA.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future still seems unsure with the Bucks, as reports have emerged about a trade during the 2026 offseason. The team management is still looking to address the offensive woes and go into rebuild mode for next season.

What’s next for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks?

Giannis Antetokounmpo will look for a team to enhance his chances of another NBA championship if the Bucks finally decide to trade the superstar. The forward also complained about the team playing a selfish game earlier in the season, which triggered rumors of his exit from the team.

The Bucks can now look to build around the role players in the form of Ryan Rollins, Gary Trent Jr., and Myles Turner, and look to sign a facilitator for the team’s offense in the offseason.
