Steph Curry is back with the Golden State Warriors like he never left. The 4-time NBA champion scored 29 points in 26 minutes, coming off the bench, after more than a month-long break due to his knee injury. He made the highly anticipated comeback and gave a statement with his performance, all in Dwyane Wade’s Li-Ning Way of Wade 12 All-Star Game edition shoes.
Although Curry scored 11-21 from the field and 5-10 from deep, he failed to drain the clutch bucket, and the Warriors lost the game, 116-117. However, Wade was excited to see the sharp shooter donning his signature shoe in his comeback game. He shared a post, admiring the elite guard and calling him the ‘GOAT’, and wrote:
“One of the greatest players and one of my {GOAT}’s chose to wear my signature way of wade 12 “All-Star game” A shoe I dubb “MOMENTS “ in his first game back! I am honored @StephenCurry30 I {salute} you @WayofWade”
The shoe also featured the Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things…” that Steph Curry has continuously represented and donned on his shoes. He ended his relationship with Under Armour in November last year after 12 years of working together.
Wade is under a lifetime contract with Li-Ning, a Chinese sportswear and sports equipment company, that he signed in 2018. Earlier as well, the 2-time NBA MVP has worn signature shoes of several fellow and former players, showing his respect for those basketball legends.
Dwyane Wade once shared his thoughts on Steph Curry’s exit from Under Armour
Steph Curry and Dwyane Wade have had a cordial relationship, and the two have talked highly about each other. In November 2025, the 3-time NBA champion shared his thoughts on Steph Curry ending his ties with Under Armour.
Talking on The Timeout, Wade said:
“I think it’s cool though, I think it’s cool. I don’t think every relationship was meant to go to finish line… And he did some incredible things with the Curry brand whether underrated. I mean obviously Steph changed the sneaker game for a while, expecially in the beginning when it came to the kids. When Steph hit the scene with them Under Armour, every kid went em.'”
Even though the Warriors lost the game to the Rockets, fans will hope that Steph Curry doesn’t lose his touch before the play-ins, as one such mistake could cost them the season. It’s not often that they see the 2022 NBA Finals MVP missing a clutch bucket. However, as the Bible verse says, Curry “can do all things,” and he is sure to bounce back.
