LaMelo Ball’s personal life has been under scrutiny after rumors emerged that he might have a kid with Instagram personality Kaliah Nicole. And now, his father, LaVar Ball, has stirred another rumor in the NBA world.
During a segment on the Ball in the Family podcast, the senior Ball talked about his family and LaMelo and seemingly gave away something that caught fans’ eyes. He said:
“Melo already got my No. 1 pick, and I got another one too, called La’One’, indeed.”
First, LaVar pointed towards LiAngelo Ball, his second son, and said, “Gelo already got the No. 1 pick,” which might be a hint at his only grandson and Gelo’s son, LaVelo. After that, he went on to say that he “got another one too.” Considering Lonzo has a daughter, and his referring to “another one” as “La’One'” might hint at LaMelo’s son, rhyming with his father’s name.
LaVar went out to explain how he would train LaMelo’s “him” to be a basketball player in the gym in his backyard, where he trained his sons. The statement has piqued fans’ interest, as many believed that he was talking about LaMelo’s son.
The Ball family has been under scrutiny, mainly because of patriarch LaVar Ball and his controversial takes. Meanwhile, there were several rumors already in the NBA world that the Charlotte Hornets guard had a kid with Nicole.
The rumors got even stronger when Nicole shared a carousel of images of a baby girl with the caption:
“Chunky girl is 3 months”
Nothing has been confirmed officially by the family or the Instagram influencer. However, fans continue to speculate on the possibility, based on the social media activities of LaMelo and Kaliah.
Hornets may be worried about LaMelo Ball’s production
There is no doubt that the Charlotte Hornets look like a more dynamic squad with LaMelo Ball on the court. He is a top-notch ball handler with shot-creating abilities and lays out the offense for the team. However, his foul trouble and low efficiency have raised questions about his value in the starting lineup.
The Hornets came back from a 19-point hole to win the game 103-101 against the Portland Trail Blazers. Ball was fouled out before the last play in the fourth quarter after playing 22 minutes and scoring 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Ball is shooting a career-low 39.8% from the field, and it might come back to bite the team when they appear in the play-ins.
