Dillon Brooks Arrested: Everything We Know About Phoenix Suns star’s Scottsdale Incident

Phoenix Suns guard Dillon Brooks was arrested on Friday morning and is facing DUI charges, according to a report from TMZ. Law enforcement arrested Brooks after midnight on Friday. He was in custody for an hour before being released at 3:20 am.

TMZ’s report states that the Suns player was cooperative and respectful during the incident. Further details surrounding Brooks’ arrest are yet to emerge. His mugshot from the arrest was shared on social media and is going viral on X. The image shows the NBA guard was wearing a white tank top at the time of arrest.

Brooks has yet to comment on the situation publicly. He has been sidelined over the past few weeks as he recovers from a broken hand.

Friday’s arrest has not been Brooks’ only encounter with law enforcement recently. Eight months ago, the Suns guard filed a restraining order against Heather Andrews, his ex-wife. Brooks alleged that the mother of his two children threatened to “cut off” his fingers.

He has been key for the Suns this season, growing into a key contributor next to Devin Booker. Brooks is averaging 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 44.0%. He has helped the Suns to seventh place in the Western Conference. The team has a 35-27 record.

When will Phoenix Suns guard Dillon Brooks return?

Dillon Brooks last played for the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 21, logging seven minutes in a 113-110 win against the Orlando Magic. He left the game with a broken hand and was reported to be out for the next four to six weeks. Brooks has missed five games since, with the Suns going 2-3 over that stretch.

ESPN states Brooks’ estimated return date as Mar. 28, which would see him miss Phoenix’s next 11 games. With the playoffs right around the corner, this is a crucial stretch for the team, as they look to secure a place in the postseason.

Brooks’ recovery could be key for the Suns, as the team has faltered lately, losing its last game against the Chicago Bulls and is 4-6 in its last 10 matchups. They will return to action on Friday to face the New Orleans Pelicans.
