The Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion drama has taken over the internet. After the 3-time Grammy-winning artist accused the Dallas Mavericks forward of cheating in the relationship, social media has been abuzz with several rumors and statements. One such post claimed that Meg demanded $700k every month from Thompson.
A parody account on Instagram, durant, claimed that Thompson earlier revealed his now ex-girlfriend demanded $700k every month from him just because he was in the NBA. The account wrote:
“In the whirlwind of their high-profile romance, Klay Thompson allegedly dropped up to $4 million on Megan Thee Stallion in under a year — funding luxury trips, cars, jewelry, and the full superstar lifestyle.”
Given that it’s a parody account and Klay Thompson never made such a statement publicly, the claim is seemingly untrue. Moreover, Stallion is worth $40 million and is an independent artist making big bucks from her music.
After his worst regular season offensively, the personal turmoil might have only added to Thompson’s worries. Moreover, the drama led several analysts and TV personalities to talk about it, including NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith.
Stephen A. Smith backs Klay Thompson in latest drama with Meg
Stephen A. Smith, in a recent episode of Straight Shooter with Stephen A., addressed the high-profile NBA breakup and asked some serious questions to Megan Thee Stallion. He said:
“Megan Thee Stallion, why? I don’t care what happened in your relationship with Klay Thompson. What did he do to deserve you going public, Page 6, TMZ, or wherever, to tell the world? How come you couldn’t just say it didn’t work out? Why you gotta tell the business?”
Smith evidently backed Thompson in this drama and claimed that he was a future Hall of Famer and didn’t deserve to be on every media channel for such things. There has been no official statement from Klay Thompson on the drama, as the online tussle and rumors continue.
