Ben Stiller Drops 2-Word Message After Timothee Chalamet Ditches Met Gala for Knicks Game

Timothee Chalamet gave up the Met Gala this year to watch the New York Knicks’ Round 2 matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the home team did not disappoint. The actor and model has been a Knicks loyalist for a long time and is often seen courtside at Madison Square Garden. However, Game 1 of the conference semifinals clashed with the Met Gala, and Chalamet’s choice stunned another Knicks fan, Ben Stiller.

Interestingly, Chalamet’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, attended the 2026 Met Gala, themed “Fashion is Art,” but was seen without her boyfriend. The Dune actor made several appearances earlier with his partner, and fans expected him to be beside Kylie at the Gala. However, he surprised fans when he was seen courtside in Game 1, including American actor and comedian Ben Stiller.

Bleacher Report shared Timothee Chalamet’s clip during the game and wrote on X:

“Timothée Chalamet SKIPPED the Met Gala to watch the Knicks in Game 1”

Stiller took the comment section to express his surprise at Chalamet’s decision to go to the Knicks game and wrote:

    “Wait what”

The Knicks started the Round 2 series with a bang after winning three back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks in Round 1. Jalen Brunson once again led the team to a much-needed start in the conference semifinals.

Jalen Brunson’s 35 helps the Knicks cruise to Game 1 win

Jalen Brunson was once again clinical in a blowout, 137-98, Game 1 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. He scored 35 points and three assists in 31 minutes. Four of the starters scored in double digits, while Josh Hart was all over the floor with his hustle plays and defense. He contributed eight points, eight rebounds, and six assists, but was locked in on defense with three steals and one block.

The Knicks have made history with their biggest playoff win in franchise history. The start is sure to give them a boost in their contention for the conference title. They featured in the conference finals last season as well and would like to go over the hurdle this time and give themselves a chance to win the title.
