Anthony Edwards was embroiled in a long-standing feud with his former partner, Ayesha Howard, and the latest update has turned the tide in the child support lawsuit filed by Howard. Ayesha and Anthony have a daughter named Aubri. Earlier, Howard accused the Minnesota Timberwolves guard of hiding his assets to evade child support cut from his salary.
However, Edwards’ legal team has claimed that Howard was trying to publicly shame the guard to get him to increase the child support compensation. As per a report from Page Six:
Ayesha Howard “Orchestrated a coordinated media campaign to pressure” Anthony Edwards into giving up a larger pile as child support.
Even though Edwards’ lawyers have refused to speak on the matter, the legal dispute between Edwards and Howard has turned ugly. In the documents, the Wolves superstar also claimed that Aubri’s mother had several conditions for settling the lawsuit, including a $500,000 lump-sum amount, financial support for life, and a public apology.
On the court, Anthony Edwards and Co. have done a commendable job against the Denver Nuggets. The Wolves have taken a 2-1 lead in Round 1 and look confident to take away the series as well. Edwards averaged his career-best 28.8 points and 1.4 steals in the regular season. In Game 2, he stuffed the stat sheet with 30 points, 10 rebounds, one steal, and two blocks.
Anthony Edwards and Co. swarm Nikola Jokic with smothering defense
Before the Round 1 matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets even began, it was clear that perennial MVP candidate Nikola Jokic would be the difference-maker in the series. Against his season average of 27.7 points, he has averaged 25.3 in the three games the Nuggets have played thus far.
The last game was even more proof of that, as the Wolves won by a staggering 17-point deficit. Even though Jokic led the team with 27 points and 15 rebounds, he made seven shots of 26 attempts. Rudy Gobert, who also scored a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, did a commendable job on the 3-time NBA MVP.
The two teams will meet for Game 4 once again at Target Center on April 25. The Nuggets will have to come out all guns blazing and show why they were the championship squad in the 2022-23 season.
