On Sunday, Kyle Kuzma reacted to a viral video posted by New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani. In the video, Mamdani called Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal,” claiming that Netanyahu is “responsible for the killing of more than 73,000 people.”
Kuzma, who is set to enter the final season of his four-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, called out Mamdani by questioning his message.
“This is 2026. People cosplaying as things they don’t have the authority, the talent, or the track record to actually be. Just for content. A mayor playing president. A founder playing operator. A content creator playing one-on-one thinking he’s a pro. A 25yr old with a ring light playing economist. Everyone auditioning. Nobody building.”
Kuzma capped off his rebuke with a call for more vigilance.
“Were raising a generation that learning the reward isn’t in doing the thing it’s in looking like you did the thing. The clip is the career. The pose is the product. The soundbite is the substitute for a life’s work. Don’t fall for distractions.”
Over the past two months, Mamdani’s NBA fandom has been thrust in the limelight as he fervently rooted for the Knicks and made his presence felt at the championship parade in the Big Apple. But Mamdani, who took office in January, has also demonstrated his firmness in tackling social and political issues.
In the video posted on Tuesday, the NYC mayor called for Netanyahu to be brought to a court of trial.
“I agree with the International Criminal Court that Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for his crimes as I do for anyone else charged by the ICC.”
Mamdani also urged the U.S. federal government to “join the ICC” and facilitate the execution of the warrant of arrest for the Israeli prime minister.
“Let Me Just Shut up and Dribble”: Kyle Kuzma Sarcastically Claps Back at Critics Online
Hours after he posted his rebuke of Mamdani, Kyle Kuzma found his X feed flooded with thousands of comments.
The Bucks forward decided to respond to his critics with a sarcastic tweet.
“All my tweets are AI sourced from Chatgpt, guys. You got me. Let me just shut up and dribble”
Kuzma followed this up with another sarcastic post about having “so much privilege” and growing up from “a billionaire family.”
