Kyle Kuzma did not agree with Sophie Cunningham’s thought-provoking tweet about AI data centers. On Thursday, Cunningham questioned how “dumb data centers” can be stopped in order to save farmland. Kuzma responded by pointing the blame elsewhere.
“Golf courses, farms, and even suburban lawns burn through wayyy more water than AI data centers but somehow the outrage is pointed at compute,” he tweeted.
This rebuttal by the Milwaukee Bucks forward was met with disapproval by many fans.
Interestingly, just a few hours after Kuzma replied to Cunningham, he retweeted a news piece about his investment in a climate resilience company called Kind Designs. Kuzma reportedly helped Kind Designs raise $10 million at a $70 million valuation, taking its total funding to $21.5 million.
Kuzma said that he was “excited” to help this venture “build out marine life.”

Kyle Kuzma has been quite active on social media this week.
On Wednesday, he called out athletes who apparently have a gripe with their massive earnings.
“Ngl it’s exhausting hearing athletes break down how their millions ‘aren’t really millions’ after taxes and fees. 40M after taxes is still 40M. The real issue isn’t the system, it’s lifestyle creep. Nobody told you to live like a king, buy 5 cars, or move with a 10‑person entourage. Modest is allowed.”
As for Kuzma himself, he is entering the final leg of a four-year, $90 million contract. He is set to enter unrestricted free agency next summer.
