5 Fastest Triple-Doubles in NBA History

Throughout NBA history, there have been elite players who stuffed the stat sheets with unnerving ease. For these players, getting a triple-double was no big deal, as they pulled off this statistical feat both frequently and efficiently.

According to the record books, the five fastest triple-doubles in NBA history were all completed under 20 minutes. The athletes who put up these triple-doubles are all exceptionally accurate in various departments, but there were nights when they surpassed even their own personal standards.

5 fastest triple-doubles in NBA history

    #5 Luka Doncic – 18:59

On December 6, 2023, Luka Doncic was seemingly rushing to put together a triple-double. Doncic, who was then playing for the Dallas Mavericks, amassed 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists by halftime. No other NBA player had put together a 25-point, first-half triple-double before Doncic accomplished it.

    #4 Russell Westbrook – 18:43

It was New Year’s Eve 2016, but Russell Westbrook wasn’t waiting for the strike of midnight to set off fireworks. The OKC Thunder’s main man lit up the LA Clippers that night with a stat line of 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. Westbrook certainly had a chip on his shoulder that season, as it was his first season to play without Kevin Durant by his side in OKC.

    #3 Russell Westbrook – 17:35

Westbrook, who hails from the West Coast, appeared to have a fondness for triple-doubles against LA-based teams back in 2016. On April 11, Westbrook took just one half to get to a 13-10-14 stat line.

    #2 Jim Tucker – 17:00

In the 1950s, Jim Tucker made history in more ways than one. He and Earl Lloyd were the first African Americans to compete for an NBA championship team. Prior to the Syracuse Nationals’ title conquest in 1955, Tucker showcased his versatility by getting a triple-double in just 17 minutes against the New York Knicks. Tucker, who passed away in 2020, finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists that night.

    #1 Nikola Jokic – 14:33

Even before he won the first of his three NBA MVP awards, Nikola Jokic was already putting up ridiculous numbers. In a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 15, 2018, the Denver Nuggets star had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in record time. Jokic finished the game with a 30-15-17 line.
