Tyler Reddick is on a winning spree. After winning his career’s first Daytona 500 last week, the 23XI Racing driver has turned heads yet again by securing his second victory of the season at EchoPark Speedway on Sunday, February 22.
The win led to the Toyota icon join NASCAR legends like Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, David Pearson, Bob Welborn, and Marvin Panch in a unique list. Reddick is now among these few drivers who have won the opening two races of a full-season NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
The same was reported by journalist Joseph Srigley on X. Srigley, who also happens to be an editor at Racing America, wrote:
“Tyler Reddick joins Matt Kenseth (2009), Jeff Gordon (1997), David Pearson (1976), Bob Welborn (1959), and Marvin Panch (1957) to win the opening two events of a NASCAR Cup Series campaign.”
It was also his 10th NASCAR Cup Series triumph. Reddick is now the 67th different driver in Cup Series history to win 10 races. He crossed the start-finish line at EchoPark with a margin of 0.164 seconds between him and Chase Briscoe, who finished P2. Rounding off the remainder of the top five were Ross Chastain, Carson Hocevar, and Daniel Suarez.
“I mean, it’s cool, but 6-7 is a lot,” Tyler Reddick said in a post-race interview. “It is cool, though. Yeah, over the last couple of years I’ve definitely hated seeing how many second-place finishes I’ve had in my short time here in the Cup Series.”
“So to be able to even that out a little bit more with some victories has been nice,” he added.
Reddick is also tied with Donnie Allison of the Alabama Gang, NASCAR veteran Clint Bowyer, and two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin for 64th on the all-time wins list. Notably, when Reddick entered the 2026 season, he was 78th on the series wins list.
Next up for Tyler Reddick is the DuraMax Grand Prix Powered by RelaDyne at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) next Sunday, March 1. Fans can watch the race live on FOX or listen to radio updates on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, starting at 3:30 pm ET.
“Drove his a** off”- 23XI Racing owner Michael Jordan lauds Tyler Reddick’s efforts
As Tyler Reddick took the lead coming to the white flag and held off his fellow Cup Series contenders, his boss and NBA legend Michael Jordan watched in awe. Well, as the owner of 23XI Racing, the team Reddick drives for, Jordan wanted the 30-year-old speedster to win.
But Reddick’s performance seemingly outlived Jordan’s expectations. During a post-race interview with NBC Sports, the NBA Hall of Famer said,
“Tyler drove his ass off, and I’m very happy for Tyler. I’m very happy for 23XI. The guys worked hard all summer. I know we had our little ordeal, but they never gave up.”
“They kept working hard, and this is the fruit of their labor,” he continued. “You know, they put forth the effort, and for us to come out and win the first two races says a lot about our whole team.”
Tyler Reddick’s teammate, Bubba Wallace, came in eighth after leading 46 laps in the 260-lap event. Reddick, on the other hand, led 53. The duo will compete alongside each other again next week at COTA.
