NASCAR veteran applauds RAM, Kaulig Racing’s reality-show path to a Truck Series seat

Kenny Wallace praised Kaulig Racing for building a pipeline to their Truck Series team with a Dana White-Produced Reality TV Series, Race for the Seat. The brand new show pits 15 drivers against each other for a full-time drive in the RAM-powered outfit.

Wallace used to drive for Roush Racing in 2005. The same year, the storied team aired a reality series on the Discovery Channel named Driver X, where team owner Jack Roush auditioned drivers for a full-time seat in his Truck Series program. The show had its roots in the team’s first-ever driver audition in 1985, informally called The Gong Show.

The competition birthed many notable talents like Cup Series champion Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and David Ragan. Kaulig Racing has developed a similar offshoot of the model, as NASCAR analyst Bob Pockrass shared the news with an X post:

Kenny Wallace reshared the post and wrote,
“This is how some of the great @RFKracing drivers were found🏁 Good work @KauligRacing 💯”
Kaulig Racing has launched a five-car lineup for its maiden season with RAM. Defending ARCA Menards champion Brenden Queen was the first driver to be signed on to the team, while Daniel Dye and Justin Haley have also entered the fray. The fourth seat is slated to field a rotating roster of veteran drivers, leaving the fifth one open for the reality series winner.

Mark Martin lauds Kaulig Racing’s partnership with historic engine manufacturer

Kaulig Racing recently teamed up with Cummins for a full-season sponsorship of their ace driver, Brenden ‘Butterbean’ Queen. The collaboration marks the return of the power giant after a marked absence from the sport. Notably, the brand used to sponsor Martin during his Roush Racing days in the 1990s, while its partnership with Dodge Ram dates back to 1989.
Queen shared the news with an X post, writing:
“Pumped to partner with @Cummins this season. Excited to go chase some wins in the Cummins Ram #12. “
“Proud that @Cummins is still here in @NASCAR supporting this sport “
Brett Merritt, Vice President and President, Engine Business, Cummins, shared a nostalgic take on the situation, saying,
“Cummins has racing in its DNA. From Clessie Cummins’ winning the first Indianapolis 500 as a crew member to our leadership in commercial power, we’ve always pushed the limits of what’s possible. Brenden Queen represents that same spirit – talented, hardworking, and full of momentum. Partnering with both Kaulig Racing and Ram provides the opportunity for us to continue to write our motorsport legacy.”
The sponsorship features a red and yellow paint scheme for the No.12 RAM 1500 truck.
