Defending NASCAR champion Kyle Larson is the father of three Children, Audrey, Owen, and Cooper, with two of them following in his footsteps. In a recent podcast, Larson was questioned who the better racer is between the two, and the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports driver suggested it was his daughter.
In a recent episode of the Bussin with the Boys Racing podcast, Kyle Larson was questioned who between Audrey and Owen is the better racer. Although Larson’s son has more experience under his belt, the No. 5 HMS driver suggested that it was his daughter who was the better racer.
“I would say, I would say my daughter. Yeah, well, I just think she’s, I don’t know, it’s hard to kind of compare them because they’re different. But Owen, my son, he’s the older one. He’s good too. But he’s like, I don’t know, is this not mentally as confident as she is? She is very competitive and she wants to do a good job in everything that she does,” said Kyle Larson
“So she’ll sit down on the couch and study film. And then you can like, because I think she’s a girl too, you can actually, she can retain information a little bit better. So yeah, you can talk to her and then try to coach her and see her try to do it on the racetrack. So yeah, I think she’s a step ahead of where he was at the same age. But you know, some kids develop at different speeds,” he added.
Kyle Larson went on to detail how Owen shows glimpses of becoming a great racer, before concluding that both of them are still very young and, at this age, it’s all about having fun for them.
Kyle’s son, Owen Larson, who is 11, and his daughter, Audrey Larson, who turned 8 last month, both compete in Sprint car championships. The two are on the ladder to learn the basics of racing on dirt, and then transfer to tarmac, before making it to NASCAR.
Kyle Larson hails Carson Hocevar’s ‘aggressiveness’ but asks him to ‘grow up’

Kyle Larson came out on the Bussin with the Boys podcast and hailed Carson Hocevar’s talent and aggression, but pointed out his immature nature.
“Hocevar, honestly, I respect his talent. I think he’s extremely, extremely good and fast. I like his aggressiveness, even, but I would say it goes overboard a lot of the time,” Larson said.
“For me, he’s young, but he’s more immature than what his age is. I have his little Twitch stream thing pop up on my Instagram feed every now and then, and I’m like, ‘Dude, this guy is like an 8-year-old.’ That’s where I lose a little bit of respect because I’m like, ‘This guy could be the future of our sport, and he’s acting like he’s eight years old,” he added.
Carson Hocevar won his first Cup race this year at Talladega. While the aggressive driving style has yielded results for Hocevar, he’s also caught the eyes of many veterans and current drivers, who’ve advised him to tone down the aggression.
