Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s grandson, Bobby Dale Earnhardt, paid tribute to his grandfather with a one-off Daytona livery for his No.89 Chevy. The paint scheme resembled Earnhardt Sr.’s 2001 Chevy Corvette at the Rolex 24.
Bobby is the son of Earnhardt Sr.’s firstborn, Kerry Earnhardt, and is the nephew of two-time Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. During the 2001 Rolex 24, Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s team finished fourth overall and second in the GTS class.
Bobby, on the other hand, has been tapped for a full-time ride with Rise Motorsports in the 2026 ARCA Menards season. The drive marks the 38-year-old’s return after a brief appearance in 2017, when he recorded two DNFs at Bristol and Kansas. He also has prior experience running in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, with his best result coming from a 27th-place finish at Kansas Speedway.
On Friday, January 9, Bobby shared a first look at his paint scheme for Daytona.
Rise Motorsports team owner Tim Goulet, addressed Bobby’s signing and said (via Motorsport.com)
“We’re thrilled to have Bobby join our program for the 2026 season. He’s hungry, he’s focused, and he connects with fans in a way that fits perfectly with the vision of our team. This is a big move for Rise Motorsports, and we’re ready to take the next step together.”
Pre-race practice is currently underway at Daytona International Speedway. Bobby Earnhardt posted 31 laps with a best time of 50.712 seconds, earning him 31st spot in a 65-car grid.
Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s grandson pays tribute to Greg Biffle
Bobby Dale Earnhardt’s Daytona livery also sports a special mention of Greg Biffle. The Hall of Fame nominee passed away in an unfortunate plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport, prompting widespread mourning and tributes. Most recently, Brad Keselowski’s RFK Racing announced a new museum display of Greg Biffle’s No.16 Ford.
Bobby shared an X post on his own tribute, writing:
“A sneak peek with purpose 👀 The Biff is riding with us this weekend. Honoring Greg Biffle’s legacy as we head into testing with @RiseRacing89”
The tribute featured a decal with Biffle’s number and the tagline, Be like Biff.
