Carson Hocevar shared that he wanted a lifetime contract with Spire Motorsports after the team and the 23-year-old driver made a long-term deal official on Thursday.
Spire announced that the agreement will keep Hocevar in the No. 77 Chevrolet well into the next decade and sponsors can plan around him for years. He first joined the team in a multi-year move announced in October 2023. He moved up to the NASCAR Cup Series full time in 2024 under that deal.
“During contract negotiations i think i asked if it could read ‘if i had a pulse, I would be driving a spire race car,’ but into the next decade sounds good too. I am here for a long long time in the sport I loved as a kid. thank you, to everyone that has stuck by me,” Carson Hocevar wrote on X.
On track, Hocevar’s 2025 season gave Spire reason to lock him down. He posted nine top-10 finishes and two runner-up results last year. He also earned his first career Cup pole and led a career high number of laps while he ran near the front several times.
But the last season had its share of controversy, too. Spire fined him $50,000 after a livestream comment about Mexico City, and he underwent sensitivity training.
Spire didn’t release exact financial terms or a final year for the new contract. But the team also announced that the 23-year-old will race multiple NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in 2026.
Carson Hocevar to Run 13 NASCAR Truck Races With Double Duty at Daytona in 2026
Carson Hocevar is scheduled to run 13 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado as part of his expanded role with the team. He will open the season with double duty at Daytona International Speedway.
Hocevar will start with competing the Fresh From Florida 250 on Feb. 13, with co-primary sponsorship from IKEA and Best Buy, and then the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15. The Michigan native has five career Truck Series wins, the latest of which came at Kansas Speedway last year.
Meanwhile, Hocevar’s start to the 2026 NASCAR Cup season at the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium ended in 15th place. He qualified 12th for the 200-lap race, which Ryan Preece won.
