The Michigan Wolverines have reportedly offered Charles ‘Chuck’ Alexander Jr. Recognized as one of the best pass-catchers in the Midwest in this recruiting cycle, the four-star wide receiver is currently committed to the Louisville Cardinals football.
Alexander plays for Withrow High School and is regarded as one of the top 2027 receivers in Ohio. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is ranked among the top 50 WRs nationally in the class.
Alexander took to X and shared that he has received a scholarship offer from Michigan.
“Blessed To Recieve An Offer From The University Of Michagn,” he wrote.
Alexander tagged Michigan assistant Kerry Coombs as he made him the offer from the Wolverines’ side. Coombs is known to have deep recruiting ties in Cincinnati.
According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is ranked No. 377 in the nation, 49th in his position and 14th in Ohio.
He has so far received 26 offers, but committed to Louisville in November last year. He visited there on May 29. South Florida, Wake Forest, James Madison and Iowa State are also chasing his commitment alongside Michigan.
Chuck Alexander Spoke About Michigan Offer and His Louisville Decision
Chuck Alexander spoke about Michigan’s offer with The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich with pride and excitement.
“Coach Coombs told me that I had an offer and I was shocked, but proud and excited with myself,” Alexander told The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich. “(The Michigan offer means) to just keep putting my faith in God and I just got to work harder than I ever been working.”
Michigan is far better recognized and arguably a better program than Louisville. However, it won’t be easy for Coombs & Co. to switch him. Though Alexander said “I’m interested in (Michigan) a lot,” he is still in a “maybe” situation when asked if he’ll take the trip to Ann Arbor.
“Right now, I’m still thinking on it,” he added.
This spring, Alexander took a visit to Michigan’s fierce rivals, Ohio State, but the Buckeyes didn’t offer him.
Only time will tell whether Michigan is able to flip the wide receiver.
