Did Michigan Football Players Get Caught Sneaking In Weed In Locker Room? Examining Viral Clip

Michigan football has been through a rough phase in the last year. All the drama surrounding their former head coach, Sherrone Moore, an affair with a staff member and more has tarnished the image of the program.

Michigan football is now slowly recovering from that chapter. They’ve hired Kyle Whittingham to lead the team starting next season and have managed to retain several key players.

But it seems like bad days aren’t entirely behind them yet. A video has been going viral on X, formerly Twitter, in which Michigan players are allegedly seen smoking weed inside their locker room.

The video posted nearly 13 hours ago has already garnered over 700k views and thousands of likes. The claim is that Michigan players seen in the video are smoking weed inside their locker room.

The video was posted by BuckeyeScoop, a popular Ohio State Buckeyes fan page. In the video, players are seen opening and closing their lockers, and smoke continuously comes out of them. However, it appears to be a wild claim from a fan page representing a rival team. The video is of low quality and has abrupt cuts, further reducing its credibility.

Seeking clarity, fans asked Grok whether the claim is real.

“No, this appears to be a satirical or false claim from a rival fan site. The linked Buckeye Scoop page has no such article, and web searches find no confirming reports from credible sources in February 2026. The video seems like a generic meme clip,” Grok responded.

More importantly, there was no statement from the program or credible reporters.

Michigan Football Hiring Kyle Whittingham Received Mixed Reactions

Michigan football was in dire need of a major change. After the Sherrone Moore drama, the program needed stability and focus to convince the players that they still had a chance to make a name for themselves.

Hiring Whittingham seemed like a good idea given what he accomplished with the Utah Utes. However, Josh Pate wasn’t fully convinced.

“I still think Kyle Whittingham, until someone convinces me otherwise, seems like a bridge coach to me. Doesn’t seem like the long-term solution to any kind of problem you have up there,” Pate said.

The upcoming season will be a real test for Whittingham and Michigan as they try to prove that all hope is not lost.
