2026 NFL Scouting Combine Notable Snubs: Which College Stars Were Left Out?

The next phase in the world of football, after the conclusion of the Super Bowl, is the NFL Scouting Combine. We’re about to enter the phase where the NFL Draft process picks up pace, and college athletes get to realize their NFL dreams.

The NFL Scouting Combine is coming up at the end of February. The league recently announced 319 prospects for the combine this year. All the players will get opportunities to showcase their talent to the NFL world.

These are the best players in their class, and they have been waiting for this opportunity for years. The players will get to interact with all 32 teams in the NFL, and if everything goes right, they might end up securing their future.

Although 319 players are entering the combine is great for the league, there are still a lot of players who didn’t receive an invite. NFL/CFB analyst Ryan Fowler recently posted a list of notable players who weren’t included.

    • QB Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss ***
    • WR Tyren Montgomery, John Carroll
    • RB Kaelon Black, Indiana
    • ED Mikail Kamara, Indiana
    • WR Cyrus Allen, Cincy
    • OT Riley Mahlman, Wisconsin
    • RB Jaydn Ott, Oklahoma
    • iOL James Brockermeyer, Miami
    • DB Devon Marshall, NC State
    • SAF Cole Wisniewski, Texas Tech
    • iDL Landon Robinson, Navy
    • ED Keyshawn James-Newby, New Mexico
    • LB Shad Banks Jr., UTSA
    • LB Jackson Kuwatch, Miami (OH)
    • SAF Isaiah Nwokobia, SMU
    • QB Mark Gronkowski, Iowa

While all the players mentioned above deserved a chance, there are some names on that list more shocking than others. Cincinnati’s Cyrus Allen, for example, is widely regarded as one of the most underrated wide receivers in his class.

As unfortunate as it is, this is not an unusual thing. Every year, we see several notable players getting snubbed. We’re just witnessing the cycle repeat itself.

Indiana’s Mikail Kamara’s NFL Scouting Combine Snub

We can’t pick one or two names from the list of players who are snubbed. They all deserve to be there and have an opportunity to present themselves to the NFL teams. But for the sake of argument, let’s take Indiana’s Mikail Kamara, for example.

After being with the James Madison Dukes from 2019 to 2023, Kamara joined the Indiana Hoosiers. The defensive end had a lot of untapped potential, and Indiana provided him the right platform to showcase his talent.

Kamara won the national title this year with the Hoosiers, and he was the Defensive Player of the Game as well. There’s no denying that without him, Indiana’s road to the CFP national title will look very different.

The same argument can be made about running back Kaelon Black. Outside of Indiana, JaCorey Thomas, Landon Robinson, and others are just as good, and a compelling case can be made for all of them.
