Denver Jones is currently in the middle of this title run with Auburn, and with him already declaring for the NBA draft, he’s about to become more exposed to the spotlight, although he doesn’t look like one who’ll be fazed by the bright lights.

    Who Are the Parents of Denver Jones?

    The Jones family maintains a relatively low profile, and not much about them is available to the public, but per Auburn Tigers, Denver Jones is the Son of Ernest and Jennelle Jones. Jones is an Alabama native, and his parents once came to watch his game in New Market, Alabama.

    “It’s a real blessing to be able to play in front of my family,” Jones said after the game.

    Jones has two siblings, Dallas and Dominique. His older brother, Dallas, played college basketball at South Alabama and Texas Wesleyan. He later enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts.

    Jones College Career

    Jones was an unranked recruit coming out of high school, he committed to play college basketball at Garden City Community College in Kansas. He spent just one year at Garden city and averaged 19.1 points per game.

    Jones committed to play for Florida International University in 2021 and he spent two years there. Panthers. In 21/22, he played 31 games with seven starts, and he averaged 12.5 points, 2.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game.

    In March 2023, he put up a career-high 30 points against Rice. During the 2022-23 season, Jones made 27 starts, where he averaged 20.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He was named first-team all-Conference USA. After the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal.

    Jones transferred to play for the Auburn Tigers for his senior year. In 2023-24, he averaged 9.1 points per game. In February 2025, Jones scored 21 points while sinking five threes in a win over Vanderbilt.

    On February 15, 2025, he dropped 16 points in a win over rival Alabama. At the end of the 24/25 season, Jones was named a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award.

    Jones is projected to be a late first-round pick in this year’s NBA draft.
