Milan Momcilovic’s address to the media on Thursday gave everyone an insight into how the big man is adapting to life in Kentucky, and it appears that he’s already been noticing his new surroundings very closely.
When asked about which Kentucky player surprised him during the summer workouts, the Iowa State transfer was quick to point out Trent Noah as the best player he’s seen during the offseason so far.
“I think Trent (Noah), because I didn’t watch a whole lot of Kentucky last year, watched a little bit, so I saw him play a little bit here and there, but you know, coming into summer, I think he’s been the best player,” Momcilovic told reporters.
“Coach showed a slide of like points per possession, and he’s No. 1 by a long shot, so I think he kind of just honestly like looking at him and learning from him a little bit, because he’s been here three years, you know, he’s a veteran in this program, he knows what to do. I think just watching that and seeing that, because he’s a shooter too, is cool.”
Milan Momcilovic Was Persuaded by Tyler Herro to Join Kentucky
Momcilovic also revealed that NBA star Tyler Herro was pushing him towards joining the Kentucky Wildcats, owing to his own time in Lexington during college.
“Tyler reached out to me,” Momcilovic said during Thursday’s media session.
“Chris (Herro) and my dad are pretty good friends because they used to coach together on the EYBL, so he was calling me and he was obviously telling me, ‘Go to Kentucky, go to Kentucky.’ No, I really like the Herro family — obviously, I listen to them. But it was my decision at the end of the day.”
