Duke Blue Devils freshman Cameron Boozer has taken the college basketball by storm, garnering praise from everywhere. He was a five-star recruit ranked third overall in the class of 2025.
This season, Boozer is averaging 3.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He shot 57.9%, including 37% from 3-point range. He is getting traction from everywhere and some want to know about the basketball architecture of the Boozer family.
Who Are Cameron Boozer’s Parents?
Cameron Boozer was born to Carlos and Cindy Boozer. Carlos is a former NBA All-Star who played 13 seasons in the league, including stints with the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. He played for the Duke Blue Devils in college and even led them to the national championship in 2021. Moreover, he has also won an Olympic gold with Team USA in 2008. Since his father is also from Duke, Carlos gave advice to Carlos, which the forward shared.
“I think just being present and enjoying the moment,” Cameron said. “It can go by quickly and you’re only here for so long. Being here, being with my guys, enjoying days like this on Thanksgiving, a big game against Arkansas, a great team. Just having fun with it.”
Meanwhile, Cameron’s mother, Cindy, graduated from North Carolina State University. She tied the knot with Carlos in 2003 but divorced in 2015. Despite their difference, they have come together to co-parent their children. Cameron has spoken highly of her mother and has credited her for where he is today.
“My mom is the one who’s really prepared me for (recruiting),” he said. “Both of my parents, they’re both tall. My dad is 6-9, my mom is 5-10 and they both played D-I sports. My mom played volleyball. My dad, basketball. But it’s my mom that’s helped me be ready for this moment.”
Cameron has two brothers, including one twin and one half-sister. Fellow Duke star Cayden is his twin. The twins’ older brother, Carmani, has faced health challenges related to sickle-cell disease. From Carlos’ second marriage to Aneshka Smith, Cameron’s half-sister is Bloom Boheme Boozer.
