UConn Fan Sent to ER as Braydon Mullins’ Buzzer-Beater Celebration Turns Nasty

The Duke Blue Devils couldn’t survive UConn’s 19-point comeback, finishing with Braylon Mullins’ buzzer-beating and game-winning 3-pointer to send the Huskies to the Final Four. After Mullins’ shot from deep went in with 0.4 seconds left, one UConn fan jumped in celebration.

However, it proved costly as it ended up sending him to the ER.

One UConn fan, whose username was Pattio, took to X, sharing an insane story on how one of his friends ended up in the ER. He shared the celebratory jump after Mullins’ 3-pointer ended up toring his Achilles. Despite that, it was all worth it.

“We all saw it,” Pattio wrote on X. “Mullins from the i95 corridor. In the ensuing celebration, my buddy was jumping in elation and completely tore his Achilles. Just got back from the ER. 3/29/26 goes down in the history books. Was it all worth it? You bet your fucking ass it was!”

The caption was accompanied with photos from the hospital bed where the two friends can be seen in a fun photoshoot despite his leg being bandaged up.

Braylon Mullins Was Unaware It Was Game-Winning Buzzer-Beater For UConn

Braylon Mullins was on the floor and was not doing well as he was 0-for-4 from the 3-point line. Despite that, a teammate asked him to shoot the ball and he nailed it to become the hero of the All-Time classic. However, to Mullins’ admission, he thought the shot was going to tie the ball game with just 0.4 seconds left, highlighting how fast everything happened on the floor.

“I’m gonna be honest, I thought it was for the tie,” Mullins told SportsCenter. “So it was just in my head, I knew there was four seconds and I knew that was probably the best shot we could have gotten. It’s better to get a shot up rather than not getting a shot up at all. So it’s just, that was the shot to shoot.”

It was a great comeback from UConn after a terrible first half. They were always trailing by double digits until the final few minutes, where they stitched a great comeback story. Mullins’ shot was the reward of inspiring effort from Dan Hurley’s boys as they set up a Final Four date with Illinois.
