UConn Veteran Alex Karaban Makes Honest Comment on Dan Hurley’s ‘Psychopath’ Side

Dan Hurley is notorious for his sideline conduct. Many dislike his behavior with the referees and how he acts during games. But he has proven that whatever he does surely works for him and the UConn Huskies. Beyond this, there is a different man. Alex Karaban recently talked about that and how Hurley has helped the UConn veteran grow over the years.

On ESPN’s ” SVP SportsCenter,” Scott Van Pelt mentioned that people think Hurley is a “psychopath” and how his personal opinion has changed over time. Karaban shared that Coach Hurley is very different from what he seems.

“It feels like he’s probably misunderstood from the outside looking in because they could never know the guy, you know. Does that make sense?” Van Pelt asked.

“That makes perfect sense. I mean, people see him on the sidelines. people will see him talking to refs and really just see the passion that he has, but he’s a completely different person when, you know, he really flips a switch when he’s coaching versus who he is off the court,” Karaban said at 5:45.

“And that really just who he is off the court, having those special connections with everybody and just he’s able to connect with everyone in such a deep level and just really understand people to where we have so much trust in him and know that when we are on the court, we are in a tough practice, him yelling at us, he just wants to see us be better to then when the games happen, he’s our biggest supporter,” he added.

They were down by 19 at one point, and on many occasions, the points gap was 17. But Duke’s Cayden Boozer lost possession with about six seconds left, and Braylon Mullins scored the three-pointer from the logo.

After the win, the crowd went crazy, and the bench started running in circles. Dan Hurley was erratic and absolutely lost himself in the celebrations. After the celebration, he quickly locked in and stared right at the referee head-to-head and got really close. This was just another one of those things that Dan Hurley is famous for. But behind all those sideline actions, there is a different Dan Hurley.
