UConn Huskies guard Silas Demary Jr.‘s father weighed in on the latest development in his son’s college basketball career.
On Saturday, Demary Sr. took to his X/Twitter account to send an open message to Huskies fans and supporters. Demary Sr. went on to thank the UConn program and its fans. He confirmed that he and his son have been discussing the trajectory of Jr.’s career after the 2026 national title game loss to Michigan.
“UConn nation, I just want to take this time to say thank you for your hospitality and your world-class support. I’ve never seen anything like it! We had to take a few days to digest the loss in the national championship game! You all have discussed it, and I don’t want to go,” Silas Demary Sr. wrote.
Silas Demary Jr. is coming off his third year of collegiate hoops and his first season with Dan Hurley‘s Huskies. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native spent his first two campaigns with Mike White’s Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to UConn for his junior stint. As mentioned, Demary Jr. was part of the Huskies team that just lost in the 2026 NCAA title game to the Michigan Wolverines.
