We are halfway through April, and most players who have joined the transfer portal in college basketball already know which school they will call home next season.
However, due to the sheer number of players taking advantage of being free agents in April, there’s still plenty on offer for programs looking to add depth or revamp their rosters ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Here are the top 10 players still on the transfer portal in men’s college basketball. There’s a particularity about this list: most of them are hedging their bets between the NCAA and the NBA Draft.
Most of them have also declared for the upcoming NBA Draft, but ostensibly are leaving the door open for a final season in college, likely searching for important NIL contracts.

Rob Wright Exits Transfer Portal After Being Expected to go to Kentucky
An important player who was on the portal until recently, but decided to stay put, is BYU’s Rob Wright. He announced he would return for a second season with the Cougars. In a recent episode of “Field of 68”, reporter Jeff Goodman revealed the reason why his sources tell him Wright decided to stay for the time being:
“He is decided to go back to BYU, and now kind of be the guy you know. Where if he had gone to Kentucky, the other thing was like, does he play with Tyran Stokes? Does he have to do this thing all over again? That he did this year with AJ Dybantsa, who is a good teammate by the way… AJ is pretty easy to deal with, as a teammate… I think it was comfortability as much as anything for Rob Wright.”
Wright’s first season at BYU, following his freshman year at Baylor, has to be considered a success with him averaging 18.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. For his efforts, he received Third Team All-Big 12 honors.
