Izzo has been coaching since 1977. He started as a high school coach and then worked his way up to two assistant coach jobs. He was an assistant coach for Michigan State in 1983 and has been loyal to his team ever since. He took the reign as the head coach of Michigan State in 1995 and has been with the team ever since.
He is often very stern when talking about serious matters and sounding off on a player’s poor display is always pretty serious. However, that outburst on the sidelines resulted in a hilarious moment.
Tom Izzo was seen frustrated on the sidelines and shouted at his Kur Teng. He screamed, “Kur, you can’t guard my mother. My mother.”
This outburst caused abuzz among the fans. They were hysterical after that reaction from Izzo, considering his mother is 99 years old.
“Coach… Always throwing his Mom under the bus,” one fan laughed.
“That kid is 1000% hitting the portal,” one fan speculated.
“Y’all obviously haven’t seen his mother hoop and it shows…,” one fan got sarcastic.
“The second my mother got me dying,” another admitted.
“People think that’s a diss but Izzo’s mom has crazy good handles and a wicked euro step,” another fan joked.
“Best coach in the nation folks. Go green!” Another fan claimed.
Tom Izzo Expresses Discontent About NCAA’s Lack of Regulations
Tom Izzo recently sounded off on G-League and NBA draftees getting another chance to play in the NCAA. He, along with John Calipari and Rick Pitino, made sure he showed his disagreements about NCAA’s lack of regulations.
He talked about how the players who have already been in the NBA draft or have been playing in the G-League should not be allowed to make a comeback in the college basketball.
