Darian DeVries on Losing Against Purdue

The Indiana Hoosiers have dropped back-to-back games and are standing at a 17-10 overall and 8-8 in the conference. They lost by 20 points against Illinois and by 29 points against the Purdue Boilermakers in their last game.

At the post-game press conference, he was asked about the loss and how he tries to keep the team together after such a beatdown.

“Nights like these are hard. I mean, obviously, everybody knows how good Purdue is. And when they’re playing at a level like this, it makes it incredibly challenging. So, I thought they were terrific, responded incredibly well from a tough loss against Michigan,” he said.

Despite a blowout loss and suffering back-to-back losses this late in the season, DeVries said that it’s very important for the team to move on as soon as they can. He said that the team can’t afford to sit with the loss for long.

“I mean, it’s right here. It’s that stretch run right now. So, the only thing that matters is your next one,” he said.

DeVries said that his team will go back home and get ready for the next game.
