The Rutgers Scarlet Knights had yet another mediocre season in 2025-26, finishing with an overall record of 14-20 and a conference mark of 6-14. The Scarlet Knights ended their season in the bottom half of the Big Ten standings, finishing at No. 14. They had equally disappointing performances in the postseason, falling in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament and in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Crown.
This mediocre performance has translated into a clear exodus, which has seven players, most of them key pieces of the roster, leaving the program via the transfer portal. This hasn’t been followed by any sort of strong recruitment or activity bringing players through the transfer portal, as Rutgers has only managed to secure two new players so far in April.
Here’s the full list of departures and incomings this offseason so far.

Lino Mark is set to return for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights
In a bit of good news for the Scarlet Knights, freshman Lino Mark has confirmed he will return for a second season at Rutgers. Paired with the return of Jamicahel Davis and the addition of transfer Lewis Duarte, the Rutgers backcourt is starting to take form.
Mark’s performances as a freshman were quiet but consistent, with him playing in 33 games and starting in six. He averaged 5.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
The job left for the Rutgers coaching staff is to retain Tariq Francis and Kaden Powers and prevent them from jumping on the transfer portal.
