One of the most highly touted transfers Mark Pope and his Kentucky Wildcats recruitment staff were able to snag was Milan Momcilovic. After missing out on key transfers and standout high school recruits in the 2026 offseason, the Wildcats finally got over the hump with Momcilovic.
Just days after officially signing with the Wildcats, Momcilovic arrived on campus for the first time as a member of the team. Kentucky Wildcats insider Tristan Pharis posted a photo on X taken by photographer Michael Rhodes. In the photo, Momcilovic is seen posing for photos with fans who reportedly gathered to greet him. The Kentucky faithful are yet to see official photos of Momcilovic in the team’s jersey.
Momcilovic’s arrival will boost Pope’s frontcourt rotation and three-point efficiency. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin, native will be joining Kentucky as a senior, having already spent three years at Iowa State. During that span, he became an established shooter and helped TJ Otzelberger’s Cyclones reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
Milan Momcilovic on what he aims to bring to the Kentucky Wildcats
Upon his arrival at the Kentucky Wildcats’ Lexington-based campus, Momcilovic was asked on video about what he planned to bring to the school, on and off the court. Momcilovic has been a well-respected three-point shooter throughout his college tenure, and he asserted that he’ll be bringing that efficiency. Additionally, Momcilovic hopes to boost the team’s morale.
“Excited to be here, excited for the year. I’m going to bring good positivity to the court and a good personality, and I’m also going to bring a lot of three-point makes to the court,” Momcilovic said.
