Creighton Bluejays forward Owen Freeman has entered the transfer portal after one season. He played 26 games this past season, averaging 5.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Before coming to Creighton, the forward spent the first two seasons of his college career with Iowa, where he averaged over 10 points per game. He averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his best season.
Let’s take a look at five teams that could bring Freeman into the fold before the 2026-27 season.

Michigan Wolverines
Last year, when Owen Freeman entered the transfer portal, Michigan showed interest in bringing him into the fold. The program has checked on him previously and could once again show interest.
The Wolverines, which just defeated the UConn Huskies 69-63 to win their second NCAA championship, will need a skilled scoring big man to help in their title defense next season. Dusty May’s offense values versatility and Freeman could fit right in.
2. Gonzaga Bulldogs
The Bulldogs have always liked an interior scoring presence. Freeman shoots a high clip in the paint (above 65% FG), making him a nice fit for Gonzaga. The program is known for producing strong big men, and Freeman’s name could be next in the list.
3. Arkansas Razorbacks
Ever since John Calipari left Kentucky and joined Arkansas, the Razorbacks have been aggressive in the transfer portal. Playing under an elite coach and in a strong program will benefit Freeman’s development. However, that also means he will have to be the best at his position, or he will have to warm the bench.
4. Kansas Jayhawks
The program has been a premier destination for top NBA prospects, with Darryn Peterson being the latest. The Jayhawks are reportedly on the market for experienced front-court players. Freeman’s rim protection should definitely be considered by the Big 12 team.
5. Indiana Hoosiers
The Hoosiers have shown less stability at the center position than at other positions in recent years. An experienced forward in Owen Freeman could give them consistency at the position. It also helps that Freeman has already proven his worth in the Big Ten.
With the Hoosiers, there’s a good chance he gets the starting opportunity.
