Oregon Ducks head coach Dana Altman needs to make himself busy with everything that’s happening around the basketball program after the start of the transfer portal. The team finished with a 12-20 record this past season, finishing 15th in the Big Ten standings. Such a bad season was only going to lead to a mass exodus in the transfer portal.
Several key players are leaving the program, and there are not many players in the transfer portal who are showing excitement to join the Ducks next season. That might change soon if Altman can inspire confidence among those players towards the program.
Oregon Basketball Transfer Portal
Players Leaving
Jackson Shelstad (guard) is easily one of the biggest blows for the program. The former four-star recruit, who is now in his junior year and is from West Linn, is now committed to the Louisville Cardinals in the transfer portal.
Kwame Evans Jr. (forward) is another key departure as he is expected to join the Villanova Wildcats through the transfer portal.
Dezdrick Lindsay (guard), a 6-foot-6 sophomore from California, plans to join the Kansas State Wildcats in the transfer portal.
Devon Pryor (forward) is expected to enter the transfer portal, per On3.
JJ Frakes (guard) has entered the transfer portal but has yet to share his next destination.
Wei Lin (center) has also entered his name in the transfer portal.
Ege Demir (big man) was the seventh Duck to enter the transfer portal.
Players Joining
While several are leaving Oregon, few are ready to join. The first confirmed addition via transfer portal is Tyrone Riley IV (guard), who departs the San Francisco Dons.
6-foot-7 sophomore Pharaoh Compton has committed to Dan Altman’s squad from the transfer portal. He was with the San Diego State Aztecs.
Junior Andrew Meadow leaves the Boise State Broncos to join the Oregon Ducks.
Oregon Basketball Recruiting
In addition to portal additions, Oregon is also bringing in young talent through recruiting. Tahj Ariza (wing), Seven Spurlock (wing) and Kendre Harrison (forward/center, expected later arrival) are incoming freshmen for the program from the 2026 recruiting class.
