These coaches not only won trophies for their program but also secured a generational legacy for themselves. Here’s a look at the men with the most national titles.

John Wooden, 10
John Wooden sits atop the mountain with 10 championships. He transformed UCLA from an afterthought into a powerhouse during his 27-year run. Between 1964 and 1975, he claimed those 10 titles, including an unreal stretch of seven straight. Known as “The Wizard of Westwood,” Wooden’s teams were relentless.
He earned five AP Coach of the Year awards and six Henry Iba honors. His dual inductions into the Naismith Hall of Fame, as a player in 1960 and a coach in 1973, cemented his legacy. The College Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed him in 2006.
Mike Krzyzewski, 5
Mike Krzyzewski, or Coach K, has five titles at Duke. He secured victories in 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, and 2015. His teams reached 13 Final Fours, which is a feat in the sport’s history. Krzyzewski picked up three Naismith Coach of the Year honors and five ACC awards.
Beyond college, he guided Team USA to Olympic golds in 2008, 2012, and 2016. The Naismith Hall of Fame honored him in 2001, and the College Basketball Hall of Fame followed in 2006.
Adolph Rupp, 4
Adolph Rupp built Kentucky into one of the most respected programs in College Basketball, winning four championships. Starting in 1930, he led the Wildcats to titles in 1948, 1949, 1951, and 1958 over 41 seasons. His teams made six Final Four trips.
Rupp collected five National Coach of the Year awards and seven SEC honors. His induction into the Naismith Hall of Fame came in 1969, with the College Basketball Hall of Fame recognizing him in 2006.
Jim Calhoun, 3
Jim Calhoun turned UConn into a contender, capturing three titles. From 1986 to 2012, he won in 1999, 2004, and 2011, reaching four Final Fours. He ranks fourth in Division I wins. Calhoun took home the AP Coach of the Year award in 1990 and four Big East honors.
In 2005, he received the John R. Wooden Legends of Coaching Award. The Naismith Hall of Fame inducted him that year, and the College Basketball Hall of Fame followed in 2006.
Bob Knight, 3
Bob Knight, known for his temper, also notched three championships at Indiana. His victories came in 1976, 1981, and 1987, with five Final Four appearances. He sits sixth in Division I wins.

Roy Williams, 3
