Kylan Boswell Injury Update: Is Illinois Guard Playing Today vs. Indiana?

The Illinois Fighting Illini will lock horns with the Indiana Hoosiers in their Big 10 Sunday afternoon matchup at the State Farm Center in Illinois.

The homeside comes into this encounter with an overall record of 20-5 whilst occupying the fourth spot amongst all the Big Ten teams. The Hoosiers, meanwhile, currently sit ninth in the conference with a conference record of 8-6 and an overall record of 17-8.

Given the program’s recent form, it’s fair to assume that the Illinois-based side heads into this game as favorites. The Fighting Illini will also see a reinforcement in their roster with the return of a key player.

After fracturing his right hand earlier this season, Illinois’ head coach earlier this week revealed how their side’s star guard will remain unrestricted in practice leading up to the Hoosiers game, and his availability will be a game-time decision.

However, it seems like this game-time decision has already been made, with reports suggesting Kylan’s return to the scheme of things after a month-long absence. As per the Big Ten availability report, Kylan is slated to mark his much-awaited return against the Indiana-based side.

Before going down with a broken right hand, Boswell averaged 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game through the early part of the 2025-26 season.

    Illinois Basketball Injury Report

    • Kylan Boswell: Available
    • Andrej Stojakovic: Out
    • Ty Rodgers: Out

With Kylan Boswell’s availability against the Indiana Hoosiers, there’s no doubt that Illinois will come out all guns blazing at the State Farm Center. However, guard Andrej Stojakovic continues to remain out of the side after reportedly dealing with a high ankle sprain, pain, and soreness. Meanwhile, guard/forward Ty Rodgers, after sustaining a groin injury back in January, is on course to getting better, but not just yet, as he too is listed out for the Hoosiers encounter.

Despite a decent overall record this season, the Hoosiers would like to overturn their recent form as they come into this game on the back of two losses against Michigan State and Wisconsin. The Hoosiers, meanwhile, would like to make it three wins in a row when they face Illinois on Sunday afternoon.
