Caleb Wilson is one of the hottest players destined for the NBA draft, and with a consensus top five draft pick in waiting, the future seems bright for the talented 19-year-old.
And despite spending just the one year in college, it appears Wilson won’t be forgetting his time at the University of North Carolina any time soon. Wilson was one of the top players at UNC last season, and despite an unsatisfactory ending to the campaign for the Tar Heels, he’ll be happy with his personal output.
Wilson was one of the standout players throughout the season despite injury struggles, and continues to endear himself to the Tar Heel family by posting updates from his time there. The most recent one features a UNC legend that later become one of the NBA’s biggest stars too in James Worthy.
Caleb Wilson’s excitement is visible in the picture with James Worthy and for good reason. Worthy is a legend in the Tar Heel community, winning the NCAA Championship and ending up as top scorer for the team, playing in an era where Michael Jordan was just coming through.
His NBA career was arguably even better, with three NBA Championship victories with the Los Angeles Lakers and winning the NBA Finals MVP in 1988. The man’s career is nothing short of legendary and Caleb Wilson clearly has the right people around him.
What’s Caleb Wilson’s NBA Draft Future Looking Like?
As mentioned, Caleb Wilson is heading for a top five pick in the NBA Draft, but some mocks have him as high as number three on the list, with just AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson predicted to be selected before him.
In reality, Cameron Boozer is likely to take the number three spot, with Wilson a really strong contender for number four as he prepares to make his bow in the NBA with his 20th birthday still over a month away. Whoever gets him will be glad to have a player full of quality and hungry for success.
