The New York Knicks have made history this season in the NBA. They have reached the NBA finals after 27 years. The Knicks won their last championship in 1973. It has been a long draught and they finally have the chance to relive the glory days.
Many are excited to see Knicks reaching their true professional. And one of those people is Arkansas head coach John Calipari. John Calipari has contributed with numerous talented players. He has always been famous for coaching some great guards in his college basketball coaching career.
John Calipari was excited to see that New York Knicks are set to play in the NBA finals and had special words for his former player. He also sent his congratulations to the whole team and the staff.
“How about the Knicks?? Congrats to my brothers Leon Rose and William Wesley and their staff for putting an unbelievable group together. Also congratulations to Karl Towns, he has taken it to another level and impacted all of these games,” John Calipari said.
Calipari coached Karl-Anthony Towns in the 2014-15 season. KAT had a successfully career in his freshman season with Kentucky. He won SEC rookie of the year under Calipari’s leadership. He then went on to become the first pick in 2015 NBA draft and won rookie of the year.
New York Knicks sweep Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0
The Cavs were no match for the Knicks. Jalen Brunson led the team to an inspired finish and now they will play the NBA finals vs either OKC or the Spurs.
In the fourth game of the series, Donovon Mitchell led the court with 31 points but it wasn’t enough. Knicks had a team effort with everyone chipping in. Brunson and Mikal Bridges had 15 points each while KAT had 19. OG Anunoby also had 17 points as the Knicks won 130-93.
