Jeremy Fears Jr. Reveals Clear Stance On Archrival Michigan Ahead Of 2026 NBA Draft

Michigan State Spartans star Jeremy Fears Jr. praised defending national champion Michigan Wolverines ahead of the 2026 NBA draft. Fears has declared for the draft and has until May 27 to decide if he wants to play for the Spartans one more year.

Despite being an arch-rival, Fears credited Dusty May for building a strong program.

“They were a talented team,” Fears told TheWolverine.com at the NBA Combine. “They were big, physical. They had a little bit of everything. They had some shooting, some playmaking, some size. They put a good group of guys together.”

The Wolverines won the Big Ten championship for the first time in 26 years. They defeated the UConn Huskies in the national championship game. Fears went 0-2 against the Wolverines last season.

Jeremy Fears Jr.’s NBA Draft Might Be More Than Just Feedback

Jeremy Fears Jr. decided to test the NBA draft waters after his sophomore season with the Spartans. However, while it was supposed to be just for feedback and knowledge, it has since become more than that after he participated in the Combine.

Fears improved his draft stock at the Combine, leaving many to wonder whether he will return for his junior year at all. Fears was not initially rated on any draft board, but there is now excitement around him, with some pegging him as a mid-second-rounder.

The Spartans star possibly hinted at not returning to college when he wrote:

“How can people tell you what’s best for YOU ???”

His father, Jeremy Fears Sr., also joined the conversation online, saying he doesn’t believe in mock drafts when his son was not expected to get drafted.

“I never could really see myself putting too much stock in rankings and mock drafts,” Fears Sr. wrote.

These two tweets have Michigan State fans worried if Fears is seriously considering going pro after just two seasons with the Spartans.

If that were to happen, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo would have a big headache filling a large hole in his roster.
