Dusty May’s move to the NBA from Michigan might have been a great personal milestone for the talented coach, but for the players at the Wolverines, it was an inflection point. Do they stay at the place where they won the NCAA championship, or move on like their coach?
As it turns out, Elliot Cadeau will be staying put at Michigan despite May’s departure.
“Elliot Cadeau will remain at Michigan following Dusty May’s departure, a source told
On3,” Joe Tipton tweeted. “The 6-1 junior point guard helped lead the Wolverines to a National Championship this past season, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors while averaging 10.5 points and 5.9 assists per game.”
The apparent confirmation came from Cadeau, who showed his love for Michigan on Instagram.
“I bleed blue #HAILTHEVICTORS,” he wrote.
This prompted reactions from fans, with some claiming it probably isn’t such a great thing for Michigan that he’s staying.
Elliot Cadeau Won the Big One at Michigan
After impressing during his time at the North Carolina Tar Heels, Elliot Cadeau really came into his own at Michigan last year when he transferred to the Wolverines.
In one short season, he became a key component of Dusty May’s lineup and made a huge impact in the NCAA tournament, winning the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player award. That individual success translated to team success, of course, as Michigan went on to lift the national championship.
